HYPNOTHERAPY FOR PANIC ATTACKS

Are there situations that you find unbearable?

Waves

Do you suffer from waves of terror or panic that prevent you from doing what you want?  Panic attacks, although often completely terrifying, are a natural body reaction known as the ‘fight or flight’ response to allow our bodies to get us out of dangerous situations as quickly as possible.  Sufferers of panic attacks, however, find that their bodies have become over sensitive and therefore react to non-dangerous situations with a panic response.

During a panic attack the body releases a large amount of adrenaline into the bloodstream.  This can give rise to a number of symptoms such as trembling, shortness of breath, heart palpitations, sweating, tingling sensations, hyperventilation, chest pains and nausea.

Panic attacks can be stimulated by a range of things including:

  • Traumatic memories
  • Over-stimulated nervous and hormonal systems caused by general anxiety
  • Conditioning - the mind ‘learns’ to be fearful of situations where there is no real danger

Hypnosis can be used to provide deep relaxation, overcome the trauma of past events and increase your ability to cope in situations that cause panic, allowing you to feel more calm and in control.
